When going to the store, I tell him we are going to buy fruit, strawberries, apples, oranges and hamburger.
He laughs and tells me that hamburger is not fruit. We do this in the woods where we are looking for ants, birds, nests and tables. If it is ridiculous enough at first the child will learn catagories. Then these skills can be honed farther.
