Need ideas for kids party supplies? Well, here's a collection of supply ideas for favors, decorations, games, and fun stuff to help you choose what to get to make your party a success.
You can find supplies online of course, and you can also hunt for various items at dollar stores, bric-a-brac stalls, local markets, or your corner shop - depending on your needs and where you are in the world! And if you're the creative sort, you can make some cute favors and decoration touches yourself.
Ideas for kids party favors
I've dreamed up a practical list of over 50 party favors for kids which you can use for almost any party theme you care to think of!
Think of your guests and your theme; you will need enough favor bags or boxes for each child, plus one or two in reserve if you think there may be the odd unexpected little visitors!
If there will be children under four years old at your party who will be getting favors, be sure they are safe! Some of the ideas below are not for the tots :)
Don't forget...
...it's essential to prepare your kids party favors in advance!
Assemble everything you need, package it up, and label each set of favors with the child's name. You can do this a few days before the party and then you'll feel so organized!
Where I'm from in the UK, we usually send a slice of cake home with the child as well... yes, they've had some at the party, but they take a piece home for mum or dad or themselves to gobble up later! So for that I would make sure I had extra napkins or paper plates and small plastic party/loot bags ready to wrap up the pieces of cake towards the end of the party, and hope that the cake didn't get squashed on the child's way home :)
You might also include a balloon on a string or a stick for each child to take home too; again, get this done before the kids arrive, because the end of a kid's party is usually an extremely busy time for everyone!
How many party favors for kids should you include? Depending on the age of your guests and your budget, around six or seven favors is fine - most loot bags or boxes are not very large, thank goodness, so concentrate on finding favors that fit the theme of your party and that you think your guests will appreciate.
Along with all the little gifts and candy, why not include a piece of fruit? An orange or apple are both good, or you could put in a box of fruit juice too. I think this is a nice practical touch!
Harry Potter makes a magical party! And there are some really great ideas to charm your child guests!
If your child is dressing up as one of the characters from Harry Potter, then a Gryffindor or Quidditch costume should fit the bill; and a pair of Harry Potter glasses might come in handy!
For Harry himself, a scar kit is an imaginative and awesome addition.
A Sorting Hat is always useful if you're going to play a "sorting" game at your party, too.
Imagine your guests zooming around on a Harry Potter broom! One broom would be enough for everyone to "have a go" and provide you with some great photo opportunities to remember your party by at a later date!
How about Hedwig? Oh yes, you can even get Hedwig, Harry's owl - not the real one of course! One of the reviews I've seen of this product told how they put Hedwig in a cage and tied balloons onto it to make a centrepiece. Now that sounds fun :)
Add magical ambience! Get some Harry Potter music going in the background, too, from a CD or DVD, to create that Hogwarts atmosphere.
Harry Potter favors
As for Harry Potter favors, there are all kinds of things you can pop into a magical purse or a plastic cauldron:
plastic Harry glasses
Harry Potter playing cards
toy wands
a list of printed out spells
a roll of parchment paper and a feather quill pen
chocolate frogs - or mice will do!
gold-wrapped chocolate coins
themed candy
mini plush owls, rats, cats, toads
or how about a plastic snake?
you could also add fluffy ear muffs if you see them in the dollar store!

Construction party supplies help you build a perfect party!
In addition to your construction themed tablewear, here are some ideas for construction party favors and decorations.
Construction party favors:
small plastic toy tools
Bob the Builder stickers
notebook and pen set
tape measure
hard hat
safety signs or stickers
small cones
a little tub of play dough
plastic sunglasses for working outside
building blocks
construction vehicles
mini flashlights
toy crane...
...and construction vests are always insanely popular!
You could use a small box as a container "toolbox" and fill it with favors and candy, or do the same using a plastic traffic cone!
Construction party decorations could include decals, pictures of trucks, ladders, tools - and how about pictures of different kinds of buildings and places:
house
apartment block
shopping mall
skyscraper
office block
school
airport
train station
highway
bridge
famous buildings such as the White House, Houses of Parliament, Eiffel Tower, or the Leaning Tower of Pisa, as well as other famous landmarks your little guests will be familiar with.
You could pin these all around your party area - they'll be sure to educate as well as decorate!
Dinosaur party supplies will make your party a roaring success!
And you can choose supplies that are appropriate for the age of your guests. Little Dino or Barney items are more for the very little 'uns, but older kids will still love some dino stickers or candy.
For dinosaur decorations, opt for kid-favorite character pictures or decals for your party room. If your kid guests are older, and know a lot more about dinosaurs than you do, lol, then it's time to find some more exacting dinosaur printables of different dinos that they will enjoy looking at and guessing the names of.
Busy Bee Kids Printables offers free dinosaur coloring pages that are appropriate for younger and older kids, and they print out very well. You could use these to decorate and for kids to color in at the party.
Alternatively, pop a coloring sheet in your loot bags.
Dinosaur party favors bring you a whole dino world of choice:
plastic toy dinos
dinosaur themed notepads and pencils
Barney magazines
stickers and candy
a dinosaur mask, or mask and tail kit
dino stampers
little colored candy eggs for dinosaur eggs>li>erasers
- and for those long dino teeth, how about seeing if you can find a dino themed toothbrush for each child?
Why not add an authentic touch to your party, as your kiddies become firefighting heros!
For the birthday boy or girl, a firefighter backpack is one heck of a way to get into the spirit of things; and all kids will love wearing a firefighter helmet.
Firefighter party favors Need some favors for little firefighters? How about:
toy fire trucks
toy firefighter tools such as a plastic ax
a water pistol (not quite a firehose, but nearly!) or pot of bubbles
a fire chief badge
small flashlights
whistles or blowouts
a dalmatian plush toy
candy - red and white color themed candy is cool
a red notebook and color pencils
- but you can of course decide on your color theme - black, white, red, and yellow or gold seem to be very popular for firefighter parties.
Firefighter party decorations You can add balloons, streamers, a pinata... or why not take a huge cardboard box and transform it into a fire truck?
Put the base of the box on the floor, and add black paper plates for wheels. Cut out a large side section so that children can get in and out of the fire truck!
The best luau party supplies create a wonderful luau atmosphere for your party and ensure colorful and exotic memories of a great occasion.
Choosing luau supplies and accessories is great fun because there really is a huge choice of items! Just imagine the setting... a Hawaiian tropical island feast on a golden beach, backed by volcano peaks and overflowing with rich plant and animal life.
In the background, Hawaiian music plays, and suddenly it's Hula dancing time! After which the feast begins, with tropical fruit drinks and tasty Hawaiian treats.
Luau party decorations
Here's a list of luau party decoration ideas, and you can really pack your party room full of tropical delights:

Luau party favors for kids
First of all you'll want to find an appropriate loot bag or container for your luau theme. You could choose balloon style bags, or ones featuring tropical fish, beach balls, palm trees, shells, flowers, or cool sunglasses.
A homemade luau loot bag can be made from brown paper shopping bags - or Kraft bags - decorated with stickers, stamps, feathers, and markers. You could prepare these beforehand or get the kids to decorate their own lootbags at the party as an extra fun activity.
Alternatively use small beach buckets :)
What to put in your loot bags or buckets? Small plastic tropical fish, squirters, small tubes of sun lotion, a shell, sunglasses, a pack of color crayons, stickers, yoyos, colorful candy - and how about a piece of fruit and a box of juice?
Need some fun activities? Here are my ideas for luau party games.
If you need jungle or safari party supplies, here are some suggestions for the savannah or rain forest. This is such a fun party theme too, with animals and plants and safari gear to think about!
There are lots of ways to decorate - grass mats, fake palms, animal standees, wild animal footprints or even inflatable animals! Banners and wall decals can bring the jungle right into your home and add incredible atmosphere.
If you want some home made decorations, why not cut out branches or vines from brown paper, add cut out leaves and pictures of exotic fruit, plants and animals to make your own wall collage?
