Tips on choosing and planning games
Sometimes the games planning is left until the last minute, because you've always got the traditional games to fall back on, such as Simon Says.
Some games, however, need a little more organization.
Even Pass the Parcel can take a good hour to prepare in advance, and racing or dress up games also need equipment and some thought about where you're going to play these games with the kids.
And if you're having a theme party, you may suddenly decide that you'd like some theme games to go with it!
Maybe you need to whizz through some mix-and-match ideas for your birthday or holiday party games...
or perhaps you're still deciding what theme would suit you and what kinds of games you could play
Either way, grab a sheet of paper and a pencil, and note down any games you think your child would like, and games you think will be easy and fast to prepare.
Four or five games is more than enough - and some of these games can be played twice - or three times!
Fit the game playing into your party plan - are you going to start with a game, then move onto the food, cake, and present opening - or the other way round?
