Your kid guests will have so much fun playing dinosaur party games, they won't have time to be scared!
This a wonderfully imaginative theme for a children's party - combining that element of the unknown with some Flintstone fun!
Your cavemen and caveladies will love getting into the swing of a dino footprint relay, or a dino egg hunt.
And if you want to combine some familiar kids' party game fun into your dino theme, why not play "Fred Says" instead of Simon Says, and prepare a dinosaur pass the parcel whilst playing the music from the Flintstones?
There are plenty more activity and party planning ideas for a dino party in this excellent article full of Dinosaur Party Ideas.
Dinosaur party games
Footprint relay Prepare two sets of large dinosaur footprint cut-outs and arrange them for two teams on the floor - it's good if you can affix them in some way. You'll also need a box with various soft toy animals.
Keeping their feet together, the kids have to jump from print to print until the end, where they have to "rescue" a soft toy, then jump back to the start, where they throw the toy into a box, and the next player can start.
The first team to finish wins!
Pin the tail on the dinosaur You'll need a large picture and a large tail! As well as a soft blindfold. Write the name of each child on the spot where they pin the tail, and the best placed, of course, is the winner.
The loudest, longest, fastest, highest, scariest dino party game! It's all action here as you ask the kids together to perform
the loudest roar
the longest jump
the fastest arm flapping
the highest leap
the scariest face
Dino dig This game requires a sandpit, a set of small plastic dinosaurs or dino "bones", and a blindold.
Hide the dinos in the sandpit. Then blindfold each child in turn. They have thirty seconds (counted slowly!) to find as many dinos as they can. Simple and fun!
Dino egg hunt You can use Easter eggs or packaging, or make your own papier mache eggs in preparation for this game. Hide your dino eggs around the house or outside for the children to find. You could ask them to find one egg each, then give each child a sticker once they have brought the egg to you!
Make sure you put out enough eggs for this dinosaur party game so that the last child left looking for an egg has lots of chances to find one!
