This is quite a simple printable, but it does allow your child to
add the sea, or a river, and sky in the background
practise drawing waves and dots for the spray
draw little fishies swimming along in the water under the boat
add the name of their boat on the side...
or cut out several boats to make their own little fleet!
And of course, you can sing "Row, row, row your boat" as you color.
If you decide to use three or four boats, you could glue them all onto a large sheet of blue construction paper to make a much larger picture, and then create an impressive sailing scene!
National Maritime Museum games The UK's Maritime Museum has lots of games and activities on its website, and the Sail Safe section is great fun for kids who can read instructions and are ready to learn new sailing skills and safety tips!
Why not make a paper boat? Grab a sheet of paper and follow along as this six year old expertly creates her boat:
You can then sail your little boat in a basin or sink - and add a bit of action with any plastic bath boats or animals you have. You may need to make a few of these boats, however, as they may get wet and sink!
You could also make one of these paper boats and then color that in.
