Baby shower games for twins

Want some baby shower games for twins? Twin themed baby shower games will get your guests double-guessing - with double the fun!

A twin baby shower is extra special - the news that Mom is expecting twins adds another ripple of excitement to the occasion, and including games with a twin theme can add a nice twist to your shower preparations.

On this page, you'll find word games for twins, just right for some relaxing sit-down fun, a twin trivia game, as well as a paired treasure hunt, which any kid guests would love!

Baby shower games for twins - Word Duos

Sugar and spice... salt and pepper... bucket and spade... nice and easy!

These word games get your guests playing with words that go together to make a familiar phrase in this format:

.......... and ..........

Guests can can use

  • pairs of nouns such as sugar and spice
  • adjectives such as nice and easy
  • verb pairs – come and go

- as well as names of familiar restaurants, films, books, singing duos and so on.

There are three variations to this baby shower game for twins:

1. An easy "finish the phrase" A - Z game with its own free printable!
2. More A - Z Word Duos, but this time your guests have to think of their own phrases
3. A free-for-all Word Duo comp, where almost anything goes!

Variation 1 - Printable A - Z Word Duos
Your guests simply have to finish the phrases by filling in the second word of each pair. Easy as pie... almost! Fast finishers can try to compile their own list of phrases for each letter, as in Variation 2 below.

You can print the game now, or save it by clicking File --> Save a Copy within your Adobe Reader - if you've not got Adobe, you can download it free here.

Variation 2 – Alphabetical Word Duos
Your guests have to think of their own pairs of words that go together, joined by the word "and" - each starting with a different letter of the alphabet!

For example:

  • Apples and oranges
  • Big and small
  • Chip 'n Dale...!

- and so on.

You can give a time limit here, too - or use this as an ice-breaker game for people to do individually or in pairs at the start of the baby shower.

Variation 3 – Word Duos Almost Anything Goes Race!
Your guests write a list of as many '...... and ......' phrases as possible - the sky's the limit!

All your guests need is a blank piece of paper and a pen. Set a time limit - ten minutes sounds good, but you can give them a little "bonus" time if they're not ready by the end.

It's a great game to play in pairs, threes or teams, because it's quite difficult at first to think of anything – but then you'll find the creative juices flowing!

Whoever has the greatest number of phrases that stick to the rules is the winner ;)

A twin baby shower treasure hunt

This game is great for more active guests, or for your kid and tot guests, too!

The idea of this game is that you give each player half of a pair of something. And they have to find the other half! What can you use? Here are some suggestions:

  • different colored baby socks - give a guest a red sock, they have to find the other red sock
  • baby mittens or gloves
  • baby shoes
  • top half of a pair of baby or child pyjamas - find the bottom half!
  • a big dangly earring - hang the other one somewhere as easy or as difficult as you like!
  • cut out left and right hand shapes, drawing round your hands or a child's hands on construction paper. Color the pairs of hands in if you like. Give one hand to a guest, let them find the other.

You could just use the socks, or a mixture, depending on your guests. It only takes ten minutes to pop one sock into a diaper bag, hide the other, then rinse and repeat around the party area, and you're done.

When you're ready for the game, offer the diaper bag around and let each guest take an item, then go hunt for its missing half!

Booby prize? A pear, of course!
