I've hunted down the best animal coloring pages online!
I think you'll enjoy these animal coloring pages - they contain a fantastic variety of animals, all with good printable quality.
Young children love animals; they find them fascinating and funny - as well as fearsome!
There's such a lot to learn about, too.
Big teeth, huge eyes, wagging tails, flapping fins and wings - these animal pages are a great way to help your kids learn about the wonderful world of wildlife.
You could keep your child's animal coloring pages in a themed scrapbook - add cutouts from magazines, leaflets from the zoo, animal word lists... use your imagination and you can end up with a great resource you can use again and again.

Up to Ten Coloring Find the animal coloring section, and you're on your way to coloring in a buzzy bee, a baby bear, a cuddly kitten and many more.
Up to Ten's printables are very good quality, and just right for small children. If you haven't visited their site before, you won't be disappointed - there are over 800 games on the site covering a variety of topics, not just the coloring. Enjoy!
Buttonwood Park Zoo The Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford Massachusetts has a nice collection of animal themed coloring pages. An elephant, fish, fox or beaver would make a good start, as would the turtle who is now sitting on my desk!
Reid Park Zoo Next it's off to Tucson Arizona, and the Reid Park Zoo fun and games page. Scroll down a little to the three printables - a sheet with animals of Africa all together on a page, which makes for a great color-in, animals of Asia on another, as well as a flamingo printout.
Butterfly coloring pages Here's a lovely selection of butterflies - color in a fluttering butterfly, a butterfly on a leaf, or even a happy butterfly! There's also a butterfly bookmark to make - what a good idea.
My picture of an orconectes shoupi is just fine... that's a Nashville Crayfish. The big-eared bat looks quite ferocious, although the Florida manatees look a little more cuddly! All in all - an extremely interesting set of creatures.
EcoKids Here's another great site - EcoKids, from Earth Day Canada's environmental education program.
There are great animal coloring pages including
amphibians
birds
invertebrates
mammals
reptiles
underwater creatures
- as well as plant printouts! There are tons of other resources on this site I'm sure you'll enjoy, too. I'll certainly be taking another look.
