My airplane coloring page features a simple airplane for young kids to color.
I've also included some more activity ideas for your high-flying kids if they're crazy about planes!
Most little kids are fascinated by airplanes; gazing up into the deep blue sky and following the path of a plane going by, high, high up in the air... it's magic!
I love planes. I was born very close to London's Gatwick Airport - and as a child, I lived in an area not far from where Concorde took its test flights. What an experience it was to see that beautiful man-made bird fly. You could hear a terrific rumble in the distance, and me and my two brothers would race out to the street, covering our ears as she flew over, waving and shouting at the pilots - wow, those were the days :)
This PDF file opens with Adobe Reader, which you probably already have on your computer - but if not, then download here.
Ideas for using your airplane coloring page
Your child can color in the main body of the airplane one color, then the wings and tail of the plane in different colors.
If your child can write, they can invent or use the name of an airline and write it across the plane's body above the windows.
Why not add some blue and grey clouds, and a yellow sun?
Or you could decide to add some far away hills and mountains in the background!
Print two copies of the airplane coloring page, and color in one as if the plane is flying by day, and the other at night. Draw stars and color them in yellow or leave white, then color the sky around them in very dark blue or black.

Or how about making a paper plane? You could decorate a sheet of paper with lots of bright colors and scribbles, and then fold it to make the plane. Forgotten how to make a paper plane? I've followed the instructions in the video below - and it was a great success!
Do be careful when throwing paper planes, though, they do have sharpish points!
